Abstract

The film Beekeeping and Honey Hunting in Ngaoundéré documents practices of beekeeping and honey hunting in Ngaoundéré in Central Cameroon. Beekeepers using different types of beehives, such as traditional hives made from plant fibers, Top Bar Hives and hives made from recycled metal buckets show different aspects of keeping Cameroonian honeybees (Apis mellifera adansonii). Additionally the film documents the salvaging of honey from stingless bees (Meliponula ferruginea)
