This is an unedited video recording of the launch of the University of Zimbabwe edition of F. Veit-Wild's "Dambudzo Marechera: A Source Book on his Life and Work". The launch took place at the Gallery Delta in Harare. Earlier in the year of 1992, the original hard cover edition by Hans Zell Publishers in Oxford had been published. As the price was much too high to be sold in Zimbabwe (55) GBP, the UZ publications office produced their own edition, as paper back. It was sold out within half a year and not reprinted.
Speakers at the Launch are Mr Roger Stringer, UZ publications officer (white shirt, glasses), Mr. Richard Mhonyera, representative of the Dambudzo Marechera Trust (dark jacket, glasses), Dr. Werner Kilian, German Ambassador, who had helped to fund the launch (white hair) and the author, Flora Veit-Wild (blue dress). After the speeches parts of the performance "Cemetery of Mind" of about 6 months earlier were staged with Ryk van Heerden (saxophone), Albert Nyathi, Dumisani ?? and Flora Veit-Wild, highlighting extracts from the Source Book.
