Abstract

Collaborative film on the perception and use of natural resources in rural Northern Namibia. The film was conceived and shot together with villagers from the Mashare Area and depicts millet farming, traditional fishing and the gathering of wild fruits. The film “Liparu Lyetu" shows the different ways in which natural resources contribute to the rural population’s livelihoods and discusses related problems. The film was produced during a workshop facilitated by Martin Gruber of the University of Bremen together with Raphael Sinkumba and Robert Mukuya in Mashare in May and June 2011.
