Abstract
This recording is part of the Kiribati tape collection assembled by Gerd Koch during his fieldwork in 1963–1964. According to Koch's typewritten documentation, KN 062 "A Na wai angin" is a dance song of the bino genre, recorded in the village of Rotimwa on Nonouti on 18 November 1963 at 5:05 p.m. Its text praises the special care and protection that the female spirit Nei Burara extends to the village of Rotimwa. The song had been composed about forty years earlier by Teingoa, who was no longer living at the time of documentation.
