Humans, Bees and Honey in Cameroon
This collection contains the audiovisual output of the ethnographic research on human honeybee relationships in Cameroon conducted by anthropologist Martin Gruber as part of his research project BeeCultures between 2015 and 2024. The main focus of this research are traditional beekeeping and honey hunting the Adamaoua Region of Central Cameroon as well as the changing role of honey in Cameroon. The collection contains the ethnographic film “Gbaya. Beekeeping and Honey Hunting” together with a number of shorter research and educational films. The research in Cameroon was conducted in collaboration with bee biologist Mazi Sanda of the University of Ngaoundéré.
